The ping tool is notifies various search engines and indexes that your lens has been updated with new content. While the effectiveness of pinging is debatable on established lenses, it can come in handy for newly created lenses or major updates.
This tool is also available as part of the Advanced Dashboard.
Note: Only lenses that have been recently updated can be pinged.
